The Gateway Center for Domestic Violence Services Vision
The Gateway Center for Domestic Violence Services (GCDVS) operates out of a deep and enduring commitment to victims of domestic violence. Our aim is to meet victims' needs, assure their safety, promote their rights, and support their desire to lead lives free of violence.
In 2006, SEI began this program to address the needs of African American women and children who are experiencing domestic violence.
The goals of the program are to stabilize, educate and support women and their families and to educate the African American community about domestic violence.
The YWCA provides life-changing social services for women, children and families from all walks — and stages — of life, empowering, guiding and liberating them to attain safety, opportunity and independence through four critical integrated service areas: Domestic Violence Services, Transitional Services, Senior Services and Youth Services. Our core programs link across these four integrated service areas to provide housing, life skills, and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence and their children as well as women transitioning from incarceration. We also support seniors by providing resources which allow them to maintain their independence, and prepare children to thrive in today’s multicultural world through innovative camp and educational programs.
